Read MoreBack in January, I volunteered to be an extra in a short film titled THE DRY DOCK. It was a very cold night, and my scene lasts all of five seconds, but it set the tone for the movie. It's very well done and best if you watch it in the dark with your surround sound on. Congratulations to JP Hoffman and his crew and the cast for a successful short...and giving me the chills.

Yesterday's photo shoot went well. I can't wait to see the final product. I'm on set for a movie trailer. I'm playing an Overlord in a fantasy universe. I'll post pics later. Here is a pic from yesterday's shoot...
Read MoreThis is from the set of Choices. What I liked about this scene was the actress across from me, LeVeta Meaux, sold the scene with tears she channeled for her characters sadness. She was awesome! It was great to work with her and Joseph A. Charles.
This is from the set of Leech Brain. I play a college dean. Thanks to movie magic, it will look like I actually know how to play golf.
On the set of Choices. We're discussing a scene where I'm walking out of a building and I run into a known drug dealer...but let him go because, well, lets just say my character is not very honest.
My first official paid voice acting work is done. Yeah. Thank you coffee and water. It's not easy work. Fun, but not easy. Back to screen acting.
I had a great push at last nights rehearsal that inspired me. I've been struggling with trying to go to a dark place to create my character and make him not only believable, but both likable and hurtful. After my research, notes, and working with other actors, I finally nailed it! My director and on set coaches were thrilled with my performance, and my fellow actors all complimented me on scaring the hell out of them because I almost made the other actor I was working with...cry. I knew I was there when the director said, "Now there's my captain." Now, to perfect him before we go to filming in two weeks.
***obviously I'm still riding a high from last night
For my latest project, I'm still working on being the no-nonsense, in your face, unapologetic police captain. It is definitely a challenge for me, but I've gotten great feedback on where to improve to bring the character to life. With the last five minutes of class yesterday, I tried it out on a student being a stand in and performed some of my lines. They said, "Mr. Wellman, that was good, but let him have it. Really have it. Yell at him!" I took a moment, and then did it. They applauded my performance and believed my words, actions, and facial expressions. Great fun!
This is awesome! Just under 100K views for the DEPLETED trailer. Thank you for your support!
One of my acting goals for 2013 is to get an agent. Well...yeah me!
