Good things are afoot

Rehearsal for VIGILANCE went well yesterday. Shooting will be Tuesday and Wednesday evening. I'm now getting ready for another audition in Philly. The director cast me in another one of his projects last year, so hopefully we can work together on this one.

It's a wrap!

Completed filming my scene for movie one, DRY DOCK, of 2013 last night in the bitter cold. Movie two, EXILE, films this weekend.

A quick update

I was cast as a Police Lt. for an indie filming at the end of the month. Yeah! In Philly right now for the table read for Exile. Shooting at the end of the month, too. :)

Getting Jacked

In a continued effort to get Wolverine jacked for my photo shoot in Hawai'i, with Ku'ulei Akina (http://kuuleimedia.com/), I'm getting closer to my swimming goal of a 50 yard freestyle in less than 26 seconds. I was clocked at 27.82 seconds. Feeling very good right now!

"The Last Brave"

Well, it's been about a year since I last did a movie.  I received a call earlier today that I was cast as "The Last Brave" in an independent film.  I'll be playing a legendary Native American Indian whose tribe was slaughtered during colonial days in Pennsylvania.  The legend is brought back to life as the story is told...and he wants revenge.  The interesting thing about this project, and challenging, is that I will have no dialogue.  However,  I will need to be intimidating and badass...think Danny Trejo in 'Desperado'.  We shoot this very soon.  I'll post pictures once they are available.

Thanks for your continued support!

2010 Shore Leave 32

Shore Leave 32 was an amazing opportunity to meet some wonderful new fans.  Browncoats:Redemption held two panels, one on Saturday and one on Sunday where the third trailer was shown, questions were answers, stories were told and prizes were given.  There were even questions via Twitter from Ireland.

It was good to see some of my fellow cast and crew as we staffed the Browncoats:Redemption booth over the weekend and it was very rewarding to meeting new fans and sign autographs.  Also, it was great to share the booth area with Edward James Olmos, Katee Sackoff, Kevin Sorbo, Catherine Hicks, and Dominic Keating.

If you haven’t seen it yet, take a moment to view the third trailer embedded below.  We’re under two months to the release of the DVD, which for a limited time, you can pre-order at browncoatsmovie.com.

2010 Can't Stop The Serenity Event

If you’ve not heard of the “Can’t Stop the Serenity” (CSTS) events, I would encourage you to get involved and seek one out.  CSTS is a unique fundraising even for Equality Now, a charity which supports women’s rights around the world, working for equality.

Sharing a laugh with Kelly Dougherty, friend and costume designer for BC:R, prior to the movie.

Once a year, people join together around the globe and host charity screenings of Joss Whedon’s feature film ‘Serenity’. The money raised through the CSTS events is given to Equality Now and other worthy causes. As a treat this year, seven lucky cities were also chosen to receive an early “rough cut” of Browncoats:Redemption.  These cities were chosen based on the results of an essay contest where event organizers from across the globe shared how their city fits into the Firefly/Serenity ‘verse.  Some of the cast and crew got together about a month prior and announce the seven winning cities.  The video announcement is embedded below.  Congratulations to the seven winning cities!

I attended the Baltimore CSTS screening, hosted by Michael C. Dougherty, director of Browncoats:Redemption.  It was great to see a number of the cast and crew on hand to support the charity effort.

2010 Far Point Browncoats:Redemption Panel

The east coast experienced a brutal February winter storm that left feet of snow on the ground.  This, however, didn’t stop the hearty fans of the Farpoint convention from attending.

Director/Writer/Co-Producer Michael C. Dougherty and Producer Steve Fisher hosted a well attended Browncoats:Redemption panel that included a majority of the main cast.  The first half hour was dedicated to relaying the history and charity mission of this project as well as releasing the third trailer for the movie.  This trailer reveals more of the story and gives a great view some of the worlds and locations in the ‘verse.

The second half hour of the panel was dedicated to an open Q&A of the cast. The panel in its entirety is embedded below (duration: 54 minutes).  To view only the trailer shown at this panel, skip to the second embedded video.

2009 Dragon*Con Browncoats:Redemption Panel

Dragon*Con is one of the largest east coast sci-fi conventions in the US and 2009 was my first time at this convention.  I had an absolute ball taking pictures of the meticulously constructed costumes, watching the parade and attending the evening parties.

However, the most exciting part of the event was the Browncoats:Redemption panel. I was excited to speak at the panel and sign my first official autograph. The character teaser trailer was released during this panel as well as uncut footage of Sonny Rhodes playing his guitar for the film.  The trailer was meant to introduce the cast and give a hint of the story (see the teaser trailer below).  The trailer was well received and the panel was so well attended that people had to be turned away!

Dragon*Con 2010 will be even more exciting as the movie will be making its screen debut.  If you are able to attend the convention, I would encourage you to join us!
